While a long time in the making, the full-colour illustrated storybook – ‘Saving The House That Jeff Built’ has finally come to life! It tells the tale of ‘Jeff’ the endangered Jefferson Salamander as it makes its annual journey through the wetlands of the Niagara Escarpment. Children can follow along through the pages as this elusive little creature awakes from his slumber then courageously traverses challenging obstacles with only one goal – to create a new generation of tiny, fragile amphibians.
Written and illustrated by the artist, this book brings ‘Jeff’ to life in an easy-to-read format for young children. It is designed to teach the importance of and need for the special natural lands and habitats that are home to beautiful but vulnerable wild flora and fauna throughout the local region of Mount Nemo on the Niagara Escarpment – a magnificent UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.
