Highlighting Our Canadian Species At Risk ~ One Painting At A Time…
The Continued Mission For Our Precious Canadian Endangered Species…
It has been quite some time since I last posted a blog. However, it has also been a whirlwind summer and autumn filled with a great deal of excitement regarding my endangered species art, special promotions, donations and art exhibitions. As the excitement continues, I felt it was time to update everyone on the activities of the past several months.
Since the inception of my ‘Darkness’ series I have made every effort to highlight our Canadian species at risk and bring awareness to these critical issues through my dedicated art and donation program. More simply put – to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. To shine a light on the darkness that shrouds our magnificent Wild Ontario.
That is my goal. And what better way to achieve this goal than to participate in public exhibitions. To let the world know that our beautiful wild species and spaces are real ~ and under attack! From destruction of habitat to climate change, our phenomenal flora and fauna is strikingly magnificent, yet highly vulnerable. Where beauty lies ~ danger lurks…

Juried Art Exhibitions Include Artscapes By Sherry’s Endangered Species Art…
Throughout the spring, summer and autumn, I have had the opportunity to place submissions into many Juried Ontario Calls for Artists for group exhibitions. I am thrilled to have had many of my pieces (shown below) accepted and invited into these exhibitions for public display. While some pieces have returned from exhibition, others are currently on exhibition or slated for exhibition in the coming months. It is an honour to have this important artwork on public display, providing a multitude of venues to showcase these crucial subjects. And as always, with the hope that each piece will provide ‘Food For Thought’ regarding the plight of our fragile Canadian wilderness and the wild inhabitants within.
Shown Above From Left To Right: ‘Within the Darkened Forest’ (Jefferson Salamander & Butternut Tree-Endangered in Ontario); ‘Ethereal Beauty’ (Drooping Trillium-Endangered in Ontario); ‘Flight Into Darkness’ (Karner Blue Butterfly-Extirpated in Ontario); ‘Time Forgotten’ (Plains Bison-Decimated in Canada in the 1800’s. Now being reintroduced from a small herd discovered in the U.S.) & ‘White Shadows Of Darkness’ (Eastern Flowering Dogwood-Endangered in Ontario)
More Art On Exhibition: From Nature & The Garden…
Along with my endangered species art, I occasionally take the time to create artworks that highlight flowers, gardens and the wildlife that visits. I am pleased to say that I have had several of these pieces (shown below) recently or currently part of group exhibitions in Toronto and Hamilton.
Whether within a garden or in the wild, both flora and fauna often have the capability of drawing in the eye of an artist, making it impossible to resist placing brush to canvas. The sheer process of it truly provides freedom of expression and interpretation. It is a personal pleasure that has continued throughout the decades. I encourage all artists to take a moment to create your own interpretation of Nature…

What’s Next…
As I continue adding subjects to my ‘Darkness’ series line, it is my intention to expand the number of wildlife organizations in Ontario and eventually across Canada that I will affiliate with so that, through my art, I can bring awareness regarding the plight of our species at risk and provide support through a portion of the proceeds of this special dedicated art.
I look forward to any enquiries and how your acquisition can help protect our At-Risk Species & Spaces.
Together, We CAN Make A Difference…
