For these reasons and many more, we must consider what we can do, both as individuals and collectively, to make the necessary changes so that all vulnerable wild species have room to live, thrive and survive.

As a Nature lover, I find myself constantly on the look out for new and exciting places where flora and fauna bring life to the landscape. Whether local or on scenic travels across the country, there is always something to be discovered in the wilds of Canada.
From fluttering butterflies to soaring raptors, the skies are filled with beauty. On land, one might catch a glimpse of a bear padding through the woods or a caterpillar inching its way across a leaf. And then there is the water. A fish breaks the surface as it snatches its lunch. A dragonfly hovers above a quiet pond. From minute to mighty – Nature is grand and glorious. It is also vulnerable. And it needs our help…
Which is why I am determined to continue this journey for Nature. To bring light to the darkness; awareness regarding the plight of our wild species and spaces – and hope for a future where we can live in harmony with the creatures of the wild.
As an artist, I am compelled to delve into and understand the issues behind our vulnerable species. To discover the root cause and determine how we can resolve these urgent matters. As a result, I am driven to do more. And so…

While thousands of species have been forced onto At-Risk lists around the world, let’s remember the hundreds that remain on Canada’s lists, including those in our own backyard. It matters not if it is a species as tiny as the endangered Jefferson Salamander or as large as the mighty polar bear – when a species is in such peril that it has been classified as at-risk, it is time to take a stand and protect, step forward and join the collective to help save each and every one.
And so, I continue to paint for the cause. Inspiration comes from every corner. Just look out your window. You might be amazed to witness what is looking back at you. Case in point…This beautiful raptor sat poised and confident on our balcony railing just feet from my presence. This magnificent creature stared back at me as if to say – “I have as much right to be here as you”. Personally, I couldn’t agree more!
To that, I will resume my position at my easel to continue spreading the word about our fragile wild species and spaces with the hope that my paintings will provide ‘Food for Thought’ to everyone and create a spirit of togetherness for the betterment of everything Nature. Let’s stay united. For them. For us. And ~ For The Love Of All Things Nature!
